Re: Chipping a 2.7i?

Thanks for the detailed response guys, it's very much appreciated. Even I managed to understand what you're getting at.
I'll use this as the base for my chat with Roddy, although I'm pretty sure he's well aware of the issues.

3RZ - please excuse my ignorance but what are the "twin down pipes" you're refering to? Is it the manifold pipes?

 but you guys don't need a chip, your fuel consumption is already acceptable.
But please, feel free to your input :)

Re: Chipping a 2.7i?

Thanks for the feedback guys. Must admit, I was expecting a lot more guys to respond, so I'm assuming the uni-chip is not as popular as I expected. I think my first port of call will be Roddy at Powerflow . He did my 3l Nissan and he's really a master of his art. If that doesn't give me the imroveme...

Chipping a 2.7i?

Afternoon Gents, Has anyone on the forum perhaps chipped their facelifted IFS and if so, could you please let me know what sort of benefits you got from the chip and was it worth the cost? From what I've read, a chip is only as good as the tuner, so I'd also like to know who the boys are that know w...

A mate of mine just had his 2.7i's done as well. Think he said it set him back around R3200.
He had the same problem as you, they couldn't align the wheels.
If that's the case, I'm never going to rotate mine

Re: 3.0 KZ-TE price info

If the motor is still running smoothly and the rest of the vehicle is in fairly good nick then that's a good buy. The way I understand it, the timing belt only needs to be replaced when the light comes on anyway. That Intercooler would concern me though, how hard has the vehicle been driven?

Another thing the kids (and adults) enjoy is taking the bread dough and making "clay balls" around a stick and then baking it over the coals like a spit. Once the bread is baked, pull the stick out the centre and fill the hole with the filling of your choice... fig jam and cheese is my fav...

Buff's Toymotor

Finally took delivery of my Lux on Friday. Been dying to take it to the closest mountain but it's so clean I almost feel guilty getting mud on it  The Lux is previously from Langebaan so maybe Admin has seen it before? Pretty much stock standard besides the chrome bits to make it look like a L...

Hi Johan, I don't know you at all but I don't like to see a man down on his hands and knees unless he's praying to God. It sounds like you've been having a hard time of it lately and need a helping hand to get you back on your feet. Besides praying for you, is there any way which we as members of th...

Re: My 1983 Suzuki SJ410

Brilliant little vehicles  . I've had 2 x SJ410's in the past and loved them both. The only thing that gave me grief in all the years I had them was a clutch that packed up on the beach in Port Alfred (the days before the beach ban). First upgrade on a 410 is normally a leather kidney belt :D:...

Re: Extended warrenties?

Correct, most vehicles under 3000kg can be placed on them but your coverage depends on the age and km's on your vehicle eg. Plan A - Vehicles than 5yr and 100 000km - Engine coverage R18 000 Plan B - Vehicles than 7yr and 160 000km - Engine coverage R8 000 Plan C - Vehicles than 10yr and over 200 00...

Extended warrenties?

Morning Guys, Could anyone suggest a reputable firm to use for taking out an extended warrenty on a 4x4? I've found 2 on the internet, Warrenty Solutions and SA Warrenties but the feedback I've seen on Hellopeter is not promising. Sounds like the majority of these firms are a bunch of loan sharks wh...

Re: Looking for urgent info. on towing with a 2.7 Toymotor?

Thanks guys. I've just completed the paperwork so we'll wait and see what the Bank manager says. The vehicle I managed to source is a 2004 2.7 Legend with 100K on the clock. Seems to be in very good nick. Actually, my Nissan isn't that thirsty, but bear in mind it's a 2x4. I get 8.5km/l normally and...

Re: Looking for urgent info. on towing with a 2.7 Toymotor?

Thanks Piet, that's not too bad except it's at fairly high revs. The torque is fairly respectable. It should pull it fairly comfortably but the consumption will empty my wallet.
The Nissan kicks out 110kW.

Looking for urgent info. on towing with a 2.7 Toymotor?

Hi Guys, Does anyone perhaps pull a offroad caravan or offroad trailer behind their 2.7? If so, could you please give me an indication of how the vehicle performs. I'm currently looking at replacing my 3l Nissan 2x4 (old shape) with a very neat 2004 2.7 4x4 that I've managed to source locally. I've ...

Diesel consumption on a 4.2D Cruiser?

Can anyone give me an indication of what sort of consumption a person can expect from a 2000+ model on a 4.2D Cruiser? I know the 4.5's are seriously thirsty (4.5km/l if you're lucky) and I'm wondering if the diesel's are similar?

Thanks

Hi Guys, I need some help from the pros please. I am currently looking at upgrading my old (2x4) 3l petrol nissan hardbody d/c to a hilux d/c but I'm stuck on which engine to chose.
