At Brakkenduine, my old 2.8D donkey did better than 4500 croozer..... I had a little more experience and softer tyres (key). He had too much power, and dug himself in.

You need a normal aspirated diesel will a big compression ratio. The 4.2 cruiser diesel sounds like a fine option, although I think she will be heavy and a really tight fit.
