Re: What shocks
I went for the Monroe's in the end (I found them to be softer than the Safari's).
Thanks all.
Thanks all.

Tx, what sort of price? For the mean time...I think I have narrowed it down - Gabriel Safari vs Monroe? I lik...

What shocks
Hi, I have a 2.7 2004 D/Cab Hilux, I drive a lot of dirt roads and do between 3-5 4x4 routes a year. My tyres are BFG All Terrain and I have an extra spring on the rear suspension. I previously had Monroe shocks, but have just replaced them temporarily with Gabriel Safaris (the Monroes are on order)...

Re: What rights do i have regarding dealer service?
Replaced my Idle Arm last Friday with the agents (I have not received the bill yet). The vehicle does pull to the one side anymore. My shocks were worn (and have been replaced with Safari's), so I expect that is what put additional stress on the arm. My vehicle is 133 000Km's and has done a fair bit...

Re: What rights do i have regarding dealer service?
Tx Chris. I'm in the Western Cape (2.5 hours out of Cape Town). I'd assume the part was broken due to wear, but I'll inquire about cause (*any insight welcome here). For sure, I want it fixed properly and I am not in a fight or losing sleep as yet :) Amount of play: I would hazard a guess of 2mm fro...

Re: What rights do i have regarding dealer service?
I think I have answered my own question from reading the posts above, but I'd like to hear different and save some money. Vehicle: 2004 D/Cab Hilux 4x4 Story: My wheel balance is out, so I go to have my wheels balanced at the local franchised tyre dealership, they put the vehicle on lifts and jack u...

Re: 2.7 sluggish
Tony, thanks for saving me the tyre swapping exercise. Andrew, hubs are definitely free. Took the vehicle out for a trip and drove some lovely backroads in the Swartberg area and surrounds. I think my sluggish problem is me trying to operate the vehicle at lower revs (trying to save fuel). Driving t...

'No go' on the tyre swap today. We'll do the experiment another time. I'll reply here when we get round to doing the tyre swap. Big thanks to Montagu Toyota for going over the vehicle at no charge  Nice to know, my new acquisition is in good condition. Legend35-ZN (Tony) - What size/type of...

Re: 2.7 sluggish
Just got off the phone with the agents, they report that everything is 100% and that they cannot find any fault with the car (which is great to know  They also suggested doing a dyno test. If time allows this afternoon we will be swapping the tyres to see what happens. I'm of the opinion th...

Re: 2.7 sluggish
Thanks everyone for your responses. Thabo - the tyres size are: D/Cab - 265/75/16 BFG All Terrain (I stand under correction) S/Cab - 245/75/15 Firestone Destination I'll mention the fuel pump pressure to the agents (I think that is something they are doing today anyway) Tony - Did your two D/Cab's h...

2.7 sluggish
Hi All, I just bought a 2005 2.7 D/Cab (it's a Legend 35, if that makes any difference). The vehicle is (great) but sluggish and by that I mean you really have to get a good run up to get to 140km. When you put your put down it pulls, but (IMO) not like it should compared to my S/Cab. I am comparing...

Re: KZ-TE 300K what to expect?
Thanks for the responses. Went to have a look at the vehicle yesterday. Turns out there is fair bit of rust (the vehicle resided in Port Alfred for some time). There is a small rust hole in the bak and a bad spot where the canopy rubbed the metal next to the back window Diff not working (seemed elec...

KZ-TE 300K what to expect?
Hi All, I'm looking to purchase a KZTE (4x4) with 300'000 km's on the engine. From experience, how long do KZTE's go for (engine + major parts) before needing an overhaul/work done to them? This is assuming the engine has been treated well and has a full service history. I'm wanting to work out what...

Re: Hilux's in the movie Distric 9
The Hilux used for the 'airborn' scene (see pic below) was a brand new 4x4 DC, brought over from Australia. A friend of had the pleasure of rolling it through the air!
