I will recommend CASTROL MAGNATEK for those lifters. I had the same problom on a mercedes 300e and after I changed to Magnatek no problems.

After 2 refills I am able to report that there is a big improvement in performance. Start and let it idle a few minutes and you can feel the filter heating up. Overall performance is better. Comsumption down with 1.5 l/ 100 km.
