Re: roof rack rails
I think the preferred rails for canopies are the ones from 4x4direct. seems lower profile and it has the extrusions to the side. The strength will probably also depend on how well you secure it to the canopy. You will need stainless countersunk bolts to secure them. I would also use sicaflex to glue...

Alles is 12V.

On my 2013 2.5 I fitted a Cirrus front mounted intercooler, a 68mm stainless exhaust (not free-flow because it is to noisy), a UniChip and had it tuned by KSD in Cape Town. You can always look for a decent 3.0D4D. Lots of them around. The engine will be a huge upgrade from the 2.5D4D.
But saying that, I recently upgraded from a 2.5D4D to a 2.4GD6 and engine wise that is big jump. Both single-cab 4x4.

One thing I have found in dealing with such things is to ask the person (in a nice way making them feel important) what the rule is and how you should apply it to your situation.
Then tell them thank you for their suggestion and that you will rectify the situation.
Then wave and smile.

The SRX is more spartan than the Raider. Interior, wheels (both rim and wheel size). But there is also engine differences eg. intercooler, turbo etc between the models.

But it will be a lot cheaper to run than the Cruiser.
