I drive an "old" 2003 Hilux 4x4. Lots of folks HERE have newer Hiluxes, but mine still looks and runs better than theirs. The newer trucks are so overloaded with "controls" that they are really no fun to drive. Keep your Fortuner !!

I took your advice and found a local dealer for Lucas power steering fluid with sealer. Drained the fluid out of my PS reservior, and topped off with the Lucas. After a week of driving (200+ kms) no more drips. Thanks for the great feedback.

If you're satisfied that's it's not the clutch, I would suggest that you carefully recheck the u-joints. My truck had a vibration at startup and at around 86 kph. Turned out there was a single needle bearing missing from one of the rear u-joint caps. Replaced the joint and now 100%.

FOUND BRAND NEW ONE HERE IN COLOMBIA for 146 000 pesos ($52 USD). Also bought a set of projector head lamps for my Hilux for 426 000 pesos ( $154 USD). Bargain prices for both items.

It is obvious from the video that the sound is external to the engine, and not internal. A friend had a similar problem and we located it by stuffing a large blanket next to the left side of the engine, and ran the truck for a few seconds. The noise was the same loudness. To tell you the truth, I really don't think they look that much better myself. But cleaning the wheels around the lugs was a PITA without the caps.So for that, it's worth it to me.
