The 2.7 is a decent motor, funny thing - on the dunes (we mine the sand dunes on the north coast of KZN) the 2.7 and the Cruiser 4.5EFI gives roughly the same fuel consumption which is 1.8- to 2.3km/l.

I am still looking and will give updates as and if i get somewhere.

I'm not familiar with the MT's, however (according to the tyre buy site: Errols' Tyres) the Grandtrek AT3's are approved by Toyota as official after market dealer fitted tyre option. Also very competively priced.

By 'shorten' I assume you mean go to a higher ratio? I am not hundred percent sure on what the ratio would be in the 2.7, if I would have to guess, it'd be around 4.1:1 to 4.3:1? Did you use the standard plug wiring that was used for the factory radio? Did you add an amp or anything else?

The navara 6th is basically the same ratio as my hilux 5th (0.82 vs 0.85) So, no use to even bother unless i do complete drive train.... too much headache... an the purist i me also did not like the idea of some pic-a-mix setup eit...

Same here,
My '98 IFS is valued at R64,000.00 (apparently), when it is worth closer to 120. I just had to specify all the extras and they loaded it. I guess the terms and conditions might differ a bit from one insurer to the next.

Die meganisme in die briek drom is so ontwerp, dat hy die brieke gelydelik opstel soos die skoene afloop. Maar jy moet die skoene eers reg opstel van die begin af.

Martin Ek het geen probleem met my bakkie se handrem. Ek sal hom teen enige afdraande parkeer uit rat met die handrem aan. Op die 4de kliek is die handrem vas. Die geheim le by die opstel van die remskoene agter en verstelling van die handrem kabel. Wat die meeste ouens nie besef nie is dat handrem...

The General Grabbers are excellent.
We mine the sand dunes and they use those on the company 4x4's.
It is amazing how well they perform in loose sand.

Morning, The SFA's are mamba, if you can get one in good nick, grab it. Don't worry too much about the auto, they are generally a bit heavier on fuel, but tend to be less of an headache when it comes to handling the power of the motor etc. Go have a look on Google and YouTube and the like on the dif...
