Re: Hilux 2.4d 4x4 Rev counter buggering around

Hi Guys I changed the voltage regulator on a 1993 2.4d Hilux. After the change my rev counter is correct on idle 700 rpm when i rev it a little bit on the ear about 3000 rpm the counter runs to 6500 rpm and if i switch on flickers rev counter goes up and down. What do you think, poor earth or bad co...

Ek sou dink jy moet dalk die turbo laat recon. dit kan sy seels wees wat lek en alles vol olie maak.

Check the voltage regulator plug. Mine did the same and the plug came loose. Regulator can also be faulty.

Misfire when cold can also be a glowplug not working, have them checked. You can also put injector cleaner on a full tank and drive till empty.

Re: Catalytic Converter removal 3.0 d4d 2010 model

I am driving a 2005 model Volvo S40 2.0 diesel and removed the DPF just after warranty expired, say about 100 000 kms it has 360 000 kms on clock now with no problems. Turbo is spooling up faster. You can expect a fuel saving of 5 to 10 %. It is very tempting to make use of the earlier power boost f...

If you replace the cap you can just as well replace the thermostat as well. Always good to replace it as it is a very important part of your cooling system.

Re: 2006 Hilux 4x4 D. Air con keeps stopping on cold.

If your engine temp goes above normal first off all replace your thermostat and check the viscous fan. A faulty thermostat can do a lot off damage to your engine. Taking to long to reach normal working temp and also causes engine to run to hot when its sticking in a semi open position.

Powerflo in George doen uitstekende werk. DPF verwydering gee so +_ 10% verbetering in performance en brandstof verbruik.

Re: How to clean a radiator??

Wynn's do a good job. I would give it a second dose and drive for longer than just 12 kilos. Drive around so that the engine can heat up properly. You can drive for at least 100 kilos. Coke also do a good job. Fill radiator with coke and leave a in for at least 12 hours then flush a few times. Remov...

Miskien kan jy die sleeves net goed "hone" voor jy nuwe ringe opsit. Die head moet jy maar laat pressure test. Heads baie gevoelig vir hitte.

Thanks for your input guys. I just had a conversation with a guy running a Hilux with a heater he manufactured himself. Fuel consuption down with 1 litre per 100km and better power as well. This guy is running around all day with the Toyota as it is his work truck loaded with up to 700kg.

Thats correct Andy. Mine is always parked indoors, but outside temp go down to -6 C at times. The question is will there be any improvement in power and fuel consumption? I usually let it idle for few minutes to heat up a little bit before driving.

Pieter Some older Isuzus came with a heater fitted in the water line that supplies water to the cab heater. Hi
I need some advice. What are the pro's and con's of installing a inline heater to heat diesel before it enters the filter and injection system. This is on a 2.4d engine. I saw a few older Isuzus with inline heaters.
