hey there guys well the V8 is in and all bolted up now need to get in it the trailer to send it in to get the fuel pump pipes which are high pressure pipes so can't do it myself and once that has been done then the exhaust with the 5 inch bull horn chrome stackers one each side of the cab. so she wi...

hi there well im in new zealand and i used the toyota hilux surf 3.0L V6 auto box and i am now use the lexus V8 torque coverter on this box due to the V6 converter being to thin. the prado auto should be the same but you will just need to use the lexus bell housing and convrter and i will be putting...

well today wasn't a good day for me as i had found out that there was a problem with my conversion for me hilux as i put the gear box back in and put the torque converter in and then bolted the motor up to the box but when it came to bolting the flex plate to the torque converter there was a 30mm sp...

well i just found my new loom for my V8 which be 5 minutes to wire up and then start the best. but there is one catch to it it now mean i have to pull the motor to bits again to put the new loom in place if the old loom as the new loom was make for the hilux to run a lexus V8. so will soon find out ...

here are the new tyres for my truck. the colour of the hilux is now yellow with twin black bonnet scoops and black strips over the top of if and my company logo down the side of it

well the new bonnet has twin bonnet scoops on it which is where the black strips will be and will have chrome door handles and roll bars with black tinted windows

it not hard to do as long as you get the sump to fitor the proper sump which could either be a front mount or a rear mount sump. look at my article for info if needed

well it took me 2 days to get mine mounted into my hilux as there ain't much different to the V6 just 2 extra cylinders. question to you all how long does it take to do a chassis replacement on a double cab 4x4 hilux solid beam axle?

well its not just a bolt in as you will need to move the chassis mounts for the motor as the V6 is shorter than the V8. you might also have to make up new engine mounts to suit the motor and chassis mounts. i will be finding out more about this conversion as i will be back in south africa fitting on...

well i put a 22R 2.4 petrol in my hilux and when pulling a boat up a long hill im in third gear and reving at 4000rpm and doing 100kpm so how does that sound for a 2.4 petrol hilux motor? the diffs that im running on it are 4.88 ratio diff heads

well the engine will come with the bell housing , engine mounts and wiring loom and computer.

well when doing the 3.4 surf V6 conversion it seems very easy and is very easy as all you need to do is get the manual 4x4 surf V6 bellhousing which will bolt up to the hilux d/c box and then the motor will bolt straighty up to the box but then you will need to move to chassis mounts back by not muc...

if you are running a lexus V8 in a 1997 hilux 4x4 you won't need to change the oil filter housing as i have a lexus in my hilux and i didn't need to chance my oil filter housing. keep a eye on my topic to see what i mean
