He recently did some work, and it transpired that he replaced the distributor, and now the bakkie doesn't run well. What modifications are ...

Good day,
Does anyone know what the amp rating is on the power socket at the back of a Prado 90?
I want to run a Campmaster 45L fridge from it, but I am concerned about the current drawn?
I will disconnect the fridge when the car is not running.
Thanks,

Re: Long range tank cracked
Can't you get the plastic welded? Kind Regards, Jaco Hi All I have a plastic long range tank on my Hilux 2000 D/C (underneath by the spare wheel) that is leaking bad. Does any one know where I could find the same type of tank. Would like to use the same pipework and bracket and just change the tank ...

Re: Kalahari, Tsabong, Mabua
We didn't encounter a vet post, but that was 3 years ago. We entered at Mcarthy's rest, went to Tshabong (overnighted there) and went straight to Mabua... The stretch between Tshabong and Mabua is very remote and desolate, so I suspect no vet posts will be set up there. Ek ken nie Thabong nie, maar ...

Re: Kalahari, Tsabong, Mabua
Sorry, can't help with most of the questions We travelled to Mabua going through Tshabong, about two/three years ago. Had endless problems to pay for fuel (petrol) due to us only having ZARs. We ended up trying to withdraw money from an ATM, but even that didn't help. Some garage owner/businessman t...

Re: Help needed with new Electronic project

The unit needs to fit inside a tube with an ID of 8.5mm Basically I need a single LED that can change colours, cycle th...

Re: Towing a ski boat and overlanding- What to choose?
The only problem I have with auto's is to drive down very steep declines, and hopefully someone can share a few tips on that. With a manual, you put it in low range first, and feather the brakes when needed. My wife's Prado has a L option on the auto, but with low range selected, it is still way to ...

Re: Towing a ski boat and overlanding- What to choose?
What about a Prado? Why do you exclude automatic gearboxes? I think the auto will make towing quite easy, and an auto in sand is only a pleasure. You can get a decent Prado in the range of R250 k, and then could use the other R100k for petrol  Hi Guys I am sitting in the UK and in the proce...

Registering an SFA in Namibia?
Good day, As you all know, I unfortunately had to let my Hilux go. Fortunately, my father (and my brother) decided to help me on my feet again (literally), and bought the Hilux. However, my father lives in Windhoek, Namibia, and would like to "import" and register the vehicle in Namibia. D...

How to obtain a municipal evaluation?
Hi There, I am interested in acquiring a home, but would first want to know what the municipal evaluation of the property is. The estate agent could only give me a stand number (??). Is there a way that I can find out? The property is in the process of being subdivided, plans has been approved. Will...
