Lumeno System - Male Connectors

Hi all,

I've built myself a small Lumeno system for lights in the tent and trailer. I have a couple of 12V 7Ah batteries, the Lumeno battery buddy with charger and lighter plug extension, some cables and some lights.

My question is: Is the connector from the 220V Trickle Charger that goes into the battery buddy the same as the male DC connectors on the cables? If so, is there any reason why I can't use the 4-way splitter on the charge port of the battery buddy to run my lights from?

Alles is 12V.

Dankie vir die raad Pieta. Ek verstaan darem AC en DC (elektroniese ingenieurswese help bietjie ;-) ), is net nie seker oor die connector se specs nie.

Your question is rather confusing, to me at least. I have no clue what a Lumeno system is, so maybe try posting a pic or two. You say you have electrical engineering knowledge, this should be a walk in the park.

My apologies, I made certain assumptions that I shouldn't have.

Lumeno makes plug and play type 12V camping lights, cables and connectors.

Example of a light:

Connectors are 12V male/female, eg. this splitter:

https://www.lumenoled.co.za/product/4-way-splitter/

They also make this "Battery buddy" with charger for charging from 220V and connecting to your 12V lights:

https://www.lumenoled.co.za/product/battery-buddy/:

I just want to know if the connector for the charger and the male connectors on the splitter are identical, as I would like to also feed the lights from the charging port of the battery buddy (and not only from the lighter socket).

I hope that's more clear than my previous attempt.

No need to apologize. I would guess that one of the split cables will be the correct size. I reckon the best way would be to go to a shop that sells these and test for fitment.

I bought this from my local China shop for R25. Works like a charm, and the 4 way plug fits everything.

That's a neat idea. Inline fuse, the works!

Update: The splitter with 1 female and 4 male connectors works 100% as a means of supplying 12V from the female (charge) port of the battery buddy!

Great, always good to hear that a plan has worked as intended. Post a pic or two for interest sake

Geez Peter, as I was packing all the crates away I thought "Damn, should've taken a pic for the Forum!" :laugh2:

Will do tonight or over the weekend!
