Good morning everyone!

I'm new to the forum, but not really new to Toyota.

My toerkar for the last couple of years have been my 2012 Fortuner 4x4 (before that a 2006 Fortuner), but I'm putting too many km on her too quickly, so I decided to get the Hilux to drive daily and keep the Fortuner for when I toer.

2011 3.0L 4x4 extended cab model

I'm already loving the bakkie.
Looking forward to learning a lot from you guys!

Hi everyone,

I don't want to create a new topic to introduce me, so I recycle this one.
Fabien, french guy mercedes vito owner, transformed into a simple van (basic insulation, aux battery, fridge, convertible bed, storage) the minimum to go on a trip!
So, I'm not toyota owner yet, I'm here to collect some information about the Hilux, cause I'm planning a long trip along the panamericana.

As I'll buy the vehicle in Chile, I'd like to find some informations about the things to look at when you buy an Hilux to avoid any "surprise"
maintenance periodicity and cost!!!!

I'm really enthusiast about the Hilux, but I want to be pragmatic and really be able to fit the budget.

thanks for this forum!!!

Welcome Fabien.

Service intervals are pretty much the same as most other vehicles and the running costs aside from fuel are normally very low, especially with the older models. Most surprises can be avoided with a thorough visual inspection and test drive. Good luck and enjoy the tour. :winkx:

Welcome to the forum.
There are posts that specify what to look out for when purchsing a new used Hilux.
I am sure that Andy (Mud Dog) would be able to assist you in finding the correct thread...
