2.8 Hilux Eco and Sport modes
A friend of mine recently had a 2.8 hilux on his dyno for chip tuning. I asked him to do a back to back dyno run with the eco and sport button. Interesting the only thing that changes is throttle response. Ill post the before and after of the chip in another thread.

That seems correct.
ECO mode reduces throttle response/sensitivity to help you accelerate slowly and smoothly. It also modifies air conditioning response to reduce the drain on engine power.

Re: 2.8 Hilux Eco and Sport modes
I thought lets do the test and post the results. You will not believe the BS ive heard with regards to the mode buttons on the new Toyotas.
1. Increase/decrease boost
2. Changes cam timing
3. Opens ports in the intake and exhaust
4. Increase/ decrease fueling and pump timing
The placebo effect the quicker throttle response plays on the brain is unbelievable. New Toyota owners believe the Sport button is as good as a chip. Once he presses sports mode he enters Ferrari eating territory.
