BMW I-Vision electric vehicle .... not sure that it will compete with Tesla yet, very plain aesthetics.

0-96.5 km/h in 1.69 seconds.

0-300 km/h in 10.6 seconds

Not bad

https://newatlas.com/automotive/aspark- ... -quickest/
Shortly after debuting at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Aspark Owl prototype scorched the path from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 1.89 seconds, setting itself up to be the quickest production car in the world. All it needed was to, you know, be produced. We move a step closer as the 1,985-hp production Owl debuted on Tuesday, bringing with it a US$3.1 million price tag and throwing in an even more impressive 1.69-second acceleration time, though that's 0-60 (96.5 km/h), not 62 mph. If that sounds worth a few measly mil, get in line quickly – only 50 will be built.

I had the extreme pleasure of driving a Tesla for a month in the USA. It is an awesome car with amazing technology. It works because they have charging stations in the USA which is not vandalised and the equipment is not stolen. In SA we are currently fighting a losing battle against crime and corruption, and we don't have reliable and cheap electricity - thanks to our beloved government. In Jburg we built the first electrical locomotive for the mines, successfully I might add. All SW and control systems were developed in house and the big companies abroad are in awe of our achievements. There is also a company converting land cruisers for mining conditions underground at R1m a conversion. We have the technology but sadly the support (electricity/crime etc) does not exist. We are in a third world country and that will not change. We will drive fossil fuel cars for a long time in darkest Africa.
