Hi, Just a word of caution
Be careful of the Ladybrand and Steynsburg roads as I have heard that these roads are shot as the trucks trying to miss the N1 and N10 roads works at Colesburg and Middleburg at friend of mine described the road conditions as " win a microwave if you can get two tyres on a piece of tar at the same time"

That is why I am going with the Fortuner and not the Platkar (Passat).WQN wrote:Hi, Just a word of caution

From Ladybrand I would probably keep going to Ficksburg, Clarens, Bethlehem, Reitz, Frankfort....its a beautiful part of the country....worth the ailing condition of the road..
Q20 if its stuck, duct tape if it moves

Was in Clarens in Aug and Lesoto. What a beautiful area.
Normally only went to the other side at Drakensville or Alpine Heath.

Re: Suggestions of what to see on trip.
Plet is net so geoorkommersialiseerd.
Natures Valley is so rustige vakansie dorpie - net so klein kafeetjie, niks anders nie.
Dan my current favorite: Tsitsikama Nasionale park! So piepklein strandjie, maar dis mooi verby!
Oppad terug by Aliwal gaan spring is die warm water swembad.

Re: Suggestions of what to see on trip.
I see that you will be going past Aliwal North. From Aliwal you can go via Lady Grey & then do a round trip covering the seven passes of the Eastern Cape around the lady grey, rhodes, ugie, elliot & barkley east. Bastervoedpad is very nice, but try to do it from the barkley pass side & not the ugie side. Do it from north to south and not south to north. The light for photography is better if you do it that way.
