2014 Hilux "upgrade"

Post by Complete4x4 »

2014 UPGRADES FOR HILUX & FORTUNER
For 2014 Hilux and Fortuner – have come in for a spot of surgery. Most of the changes take place indoors with both models becoming recipients of the new black-hued dashboard (as opposed to the outgoing grey palette). To complement the new trim colour, Fortuner upholstery changes to black leather for the 3.0 and 4.0 variants, whilst 2.5 variants get matching black fabric.
An all-new multimedia system (with large display monitor) now becomes standard on high-end Hilux models (3.0 D-4D and 4.0 V6 double cabs) as well as the Fortuner 3.0 and 4.0 variants. Some of the features of this new system include photo viewer, video/DVD playback (when the vehicle is stationary), full-colour album art display and expanded interface categories for music downloads.
The Fortuner 2.5 D-4D manual and auto models get an upgraded multimedia system featuring a larger display and boasting added functionality in the form of a Bluetooth hands-free system.
In line with Fortuner 3.0 and 4.0 models, Hilux Double Cab 3.0 and 4.0 models now also come with a back guide monitor as standard.
At a glance:
• Hilux and Fortuner – black dashboard finish
• Fortuner 3.0 and 4.0 – black leather
• Fortuner 2.5 – black cloth upholstery
• Hilux 3.0 and 4.0 Double Cabs / Fortuner 3.0 and 4.0 – all new multimedia system with added functionality
• Hilux 3.0 and 4.0 Double Cabs (Raised Body and 4x4) – back guide monitor
• Fortuner 2.5 – upgraded multimedia system

Heaven Forbid ANOTHER facelift. Bring out a new model already! I am a huge Toy fan but cant help feeling they are being left behind, even if it is in the SUV market. I wish they had tossed in grey or black on the earlier models because my Fortuners tan colour is allergic to dirt, mud, kids and about everything else in my life. The current models are 9 years old already and are going for the third facelift.

But, like some people might argue- don't fix it if it aint broke......

Standard 2 doors each side .... the B-pillar has just been 'shopped' out for more complete viewing (Look at the opposite side .... the b-pillar is still there.) ;-)
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

Die swart dashbord en sitplekke sal minder vuil wys, maar kan julle dink hoe warm gaan hy word as hy n paar ure in die son gestaan het

Not sure if its the same in SA as in Aus, but the 2014 spec Hilux D4D will now have a 5 speed auto and not 4 speed anymore...it will also go from a 4 star safety to a 5 star, which is a big deal here for Toyota as all the mines stopped buying any vehicles with less than 5 star safety.

I'm buying a 2014 manual though in 3 weeks. I just cant get used to auto's...

Wont be as awesome as my '97 SFA was but I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

4 star to 5 star safety only happens in 2016. Sorry for the disappointment but that is why everybody is now driving Ford......

It seems like that picture was scanned from a magazine. I cannot imagine that a modern manufacturer can screw up window and door rubbers the way they did on this vehicle in the picture.

While all the manufacturers are looking at going forward and more daring in design, why don't Toyota
just bring out a new SFA?? I am sure there are a lot of people who would buy one. M2cw
