Niel, what did you pay for new leaf springs btw? I still have my old set, any takers? Will swap it for a bottle of Kwv brandy.

Re: Leaf spring sag
You're lucky. Saayman springs wanted to ruk me R2K for the rear set. They apparently also re-temper the springs plus fit an extra one. Many guys have advised me not to go that route, so I'm a bit stuck for now.MOFASA wrote:You had it done for R1300...

If you still have blank pages in your passport, it's probably time for a road trip.

Re: Leaf spring sag
If they had to re-temper the old ones it would have cost over 2k.it also depends on what length shackles you put in,i went for the 50mm longer ones, that way don't have to replace the shocks, only got so much lift because the old leaf springs were so bad.4x4 Junkie wrote:You're lucky. Re: Leaf spring sag
I took my D/C to Pretoria Spring Sales in Pretoria West before discovering this thread on the forum. They charged me R850 ex VAT to retension both existing leave springs plus adding an additional leave spring per side and adding new bushes.
I’m very happy with the outcome. Depending on how busy they are they can do it while you wait.

Re: Leaf spring sag
I second that, did exactly this last week. Nice thing is they open at 6:30 in the morning so you can almost wait and be on time for work!SAthing wrote:I took my D/C to Pretoria Spring Sales in Pretoria West before discovering this thread on the forum. Re: Leaf spring sag
The only problem I see with the extra blade is a loss in articulation :problem:Thunder02 wrote:Have them re-tempered and put an extra blade in,good for another few thousand kms4x4Maniac wrote:Niel, what did you pay for new leaf springs btw? Re: Leaf spring sag
Yup. My van's rear is also a little too low for my liking... even worse with the canopy on. But the articulation i get with the Mikems is awesome. Thinking extended shackles... or a spacer below the blades... (or both) before i add a blade. Input welcome.
