Midas compressors - value for money?
See they got a heavy duty, 160l/m 150psi max single head in a bag for R799.
Then they got a 150l/m 150 psi max dual head in a plastic box for R699.
Is it a good buy and if so which model ?

I would only consider these two:

http://www.midas.co.za/pebble.asp?relid=299 <- My choice
The others seem a bit lig-in-die-broek.

Re: Midas compressors - value for money?
I've got the single head one for about 4 years (cost +/- R599 new), and it has never let me down, besides for the inline fuse poping once (I still don't know why). Agree with the bag not being worth much, but the twin head copressor will always be a nice upgrade! ;)

How would you compare these to the T-max?

Re: Midas compressors - value for money?
Thanks for the feedback.
The 150l dualhead is the old stock which is getting replaced by the single bigger head 160l.
I also reckon the dualhead will be a better buy.
How do they compare to the other makes ?

Re: Midas compressors - value for money?
I'd go for the single head if I were to choose between the two ... it will certainly have a bigger capacity motor, and that's where most of the heat is generated, rather than in the heads.

Re: Midas compressors - value for money?
The T-max is better/faster at the Fundi this year we actually did the test a friend have the T-max and a other guy the cheaper 160l/min they look exactly the same and a lot of people say it comes out of the same factory!Gunta wrote:How would you compare these to the T-max?
But we deflated my 32" tyres 2 of them to 0.5bar and then start inflating both tyres and the T-max won hands down almost a 1 and a half minutes faster than the cheaper model!
Quality to me looks the same and both were 160l/min compressors!
I can't explain why but the T-max was faster every time!

Re: Midas compressors - value for money?
And the T-max is not that much more in price. I have been looking at it for a while, think I am going to buy one.

Re: Midas compressors - value for money?
Just get the cheapest Midas cheapy (one fifth of the price) and replace it every 2 years ..... 10 years of bang for your buck!!
