SAC KZ-TE intercooler
SAC mount there inter-cooler just under the sump where the belly plate goes
Not the ideal place to have it on a 4x4.
I choose to blame Angela.... haha

Re: SAC KZ-TE intercooler
Looks like a mud cooler. You are going to have to move that upfor any kind of effect.

Re: SAC KZ-TE intercooler
I cleaned it out, and made sure the cooler is also clear of all mud.
just have to avoid deep water crossings.

Yip, mine located in the same place. Luckily I only have 2x4 and hope not to do any wet crossings soon :) Was just wondering how effective it actually is with it facing backwards and sucking in air and not air being pushed in while driving.

Re: SAC KZ-TE intercooler
If I look at my kz from the front, all you see is the bash plate covering the intake of the IC. When you look from the back you see the opening of the intake facing the rear of the vehicle. With other IC systems the intake is on top of the engine and gets the cool air from the front. Hope this makes sense? Or have I got it totally wrong? :)

Re: SAC KZ-TE intercooler
Here is a pic from the front with the bash plate on. I believe it "ramms the air throug".
Even tough I think its not the ideal place for a 4x4, i still think its better than the D4D, heat rises..... defeats the purpose doesn't it?

Re: SAC KZ-TE intercooler
Hi guys
Just check the clearance between the top of your bash plate and radiator. I found my bash plate was rubbing against the bottom tank right at the drain plug.
Cheers

Re: SAC KZ-TE intercooler
OK guys I'm the ID10T here! :)
Mine looks just like yours WayneSchalk, with the mesh at the front. It just always looked like there was an intake at the back and somehow that is what I understood when one of the guys at KSD explained it to me over the phone.
....AND thats why I dont do my own work on my KZ :)
Also wondered now how much air is actually forced into it with the bash plate (Legend 35) covering some of it.

Re: SAC KZ-TE intercooler
I will try and get bigger pictures,
it is designed very good, from the mesh in front it is "ducted" over the inter-cooler, all the air that goes in the front has to go through the inter-cooler and out the bottom. And trust me the cover also acts as a bash plate.
I know the inter-cooler has been tested and I have read all the specs. But I would like to have the opportunity to measure the difference between a KZ-TE without the SAC conversion and one like mine with the conversion.
