A Hilux in Europistan.
This is how my Hilux started in March 2013. Pics taken just a few hours after it had arrived at the Toyota dealership! A 3.0D-4D 171 (171 HP) 5 Speed Manual Double Cab.
Thanks to the EU bureaucrats from Brussels our laws regarding "Builts" are insane. Tons of paperwork needed, a myriad of "technical controls" Luckily I was able to register most of my transformations with the German "TüV", they are much more agreeable and helpful then the retards at our local Technical Inspection Center for Motor Vehicles.
More to come.

Re: A Hilux in Europistan.
Welcome aboard, Tom!!
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.
Life is like a jar of Jalapeño peppers ... what you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow.
Don't take life too seriously ..... no-one gets out alive.
It's not about waiting for storms to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
And be yourself ..... everyone else is taken!

The Lux in the Vosges Mountains in France, after the first two rounds of tampering...
First thing I did, last February, was to mount Rhino Rack heavy duty bars with an Overzone rooftent onto the cab and Rhino Rack heavy duty bars with an Alloy Tray on the hardtop.
In April I replaced the complete standard suspension with OME gear, raising the ride about 5 cm. I also put on a Rhino 4X4 Front Bumper and a T-Max 4.3 to., X-Power HEW 9500 winch.

Re: A Hilux in Europistan.
In June I added Rasta 4X4 skid plates! They didn't even fit badly...they didn't fit at all
Blood sweat and tears! Every whole had to be re-drilled or widened!!! But on the plus side the Rasta 4X4 front plate fits well underneath the skid plate integrated into the Rhino 4X4 front bumper, so I just had to drill two additional holes. No cutting! So, all in all I am quite happy with the Rasta plates!

Tom, are those plates steel or aluminium?
What you still need under there is CV boot protection. See this topic viewtopic.php?f=6&t=11798&p=131351&hili ... on#p131351

@ Mud Dog:
The plates are 6mm aluminium.
Next step will be CV protections and rock sliders. I haven't decided yet which model of CV protectors I want to put on. But for the rock sliders I'm pretty sure I will go with the Front Runner. They don't take away any ground clearance but they seem to be very sturdy.

Re: A Hilux in Europistan.
Two weeks ago I changed the rear bumper for an AFN (That's a small company in Portugal that makes some quite nice 4X4 replacement parts). the AFN bumper has a spare wheel carrier and a jerry can holder.

Re: A Hilux in Europistan.
The last change till now! I got rid of the Alpha E-type hardtop and replaced it with an Alucab. Now I only need to put the rooftent and the luggage tray back on and at the end of the month I can hit the road. "Tour de France en Hilux"
