Re: Upgrades to my Hilux SRX D/C 4x4
Thanks Anthonie,
Incidentally, as I have been driving the Lux more and more over the past few days, I have quickly gotten used to the difference in performance of the vehicle with the new tyres.
I don't really notice the loss in power any more.
I have done a lot of research on upsizing tyres and it seems that if the difference in size between the old and the new is not more than 2-3 % then it is fine to do the change.
My difference is about 1.9%.
I love the feel of the performance and handling of my Hilux now, as well as the look.

WOW ! What a difference in performance.
I now have 100kW. The gains were 20kW from 85kW.

Looks great there Brett.I am sure you will be happy with that lux.A few years down the line you'll still be driving it,might not have the power of the Fo.. and some of the other 4x4's out there but time will tell which vehicle stands the test of time and mileage. !!!!!

Just one question... is it not possible to fit fender flares? I can imagine the front bumper won't align properly? But i do like the way they protect the body work from nick and scratches from flying stones.

Seriously consider rock-sliders.
invaluable for going off road, but more importantly, it provides the perfect body protection from stones thrown up by the front tires.

Yes, rocksliders is my next purchase. In fact I will be fitting them this week on Thursday. I am purchasing the R & D Gobi X rock sliders, as I want one that has a step.ChrisF wrote:Seriously consider rock-sliders.

I will post pics later this week when they on.

Re: Upgrades to my Hilux SRX D/C 4x4
I don't think I want to get fender flares. I think the rock sliders will give the required protection from flying stones etc. I also like the look of the SRX without fenders. Its the one thing that differentiates it from the Raider.Mr_B wrote:Just one question... is it not possible to fit fender flares? I can imagine the front bumper won't align properly? Chris, I believe your SRX was also chipped. Which chip do you have installed and are you happy with it?
