I've just replaced my suspension for the Proudly South African Camel suspension. I will be testing them shortly at Baltimore. Is there anyone that has moved from OME to Camel or have used the suspension for a long time? On the road they have given me some more stability and the extra lift is great.
Would love some feedback

Re: Camel Suspension? Whats the feedback
Done mine some 40 000km ago, gave me 50mm lift with Camel not a single problem since. Good choice and value for money. Creative Wheels at the East Rand (North rand Road Boksburg) done it .

:o I did the Baltimore 4x4 weekend on my new Camils and they performed great. Doing De Wildt this weekend and can't wait to see how they are going to perform.

Re: Camel Suspension? Whats the feedback
I had Camils on my Ford Ranger. They worked well. Made the vehicle much more stable on the road, and assisted with articulation. Just beware that they are "load bearing" items, fitted in the place of your normal shock absorbers which are not load bearing. It might have an effect on your shock mounts in the long run.
None the less, I had good service out of them...

Re: Camel Suspension? Whats the feedback
Hi Gents,
Unfortunately my experience was different. One front shock was buggered after about 8 months. Less than 10000k. Handling on tar felt down right dangerous. Also articulation was, for the lack of a better word "non existent"
I measured the rears and only had about 65mm of downwards travel. Because of the load bearing Coil Over.
I moved to OME and she has since been a different vehicle. Much more stable on road and and absolute pleasure on dirt. Articulation is also now huge.
Maybe I had a "bad" Batch. Hope you have more luck!

Kyk, ek gaan nie lieg en se my bakkie loop die sagste nie! Hy ry maar hard maar ek het altyd 'n vrag op. Ek weet net sonder dit sou ek al 'n paar keer moes shocks vervang het!
