I imagine the sand would cushion the landing a little but by the same token, one could end up 'digging' the nose in and flipping the vehicle. Done some ramping in my time, but that's a little too rich for me! :o:

not saying you have the cat by its tail

can't talk for others, however, we got our 4x4s so that we can get to certain places, where a normal vehicle will not be able to get to, and this while towing our offroad toys

understand that different strokes for different folks, however once we arrive at our destination we only use our 4x4 where we can't go with our other toys, couz we still need to get home
if we break one of our toys, tough, we either fix it or load it on the trailer and fix it when home

if we bend our 4x4, then our next trip is also at jeopardy

that is just how/why we do it

Shoe, nice pics. If we can get permission from the author we can stock it on the front page of the web site with Cobus' SFA pic. Cobus did not suffer any damage on his flight, but that is a SFA
Who took the pics or where dis you get it?

Then we only need somebody with an IFS to volunteer for an inflight photo shoot so we can complete the series.

I would never dream of putting an IFS machine through such punishment ... an SFA is much better able to handle such abuse but even then I would be concerned about shocks, shock mounts and chassis rails with such a big jump. Those mag rims are also a bit 'light' on meat for my liking as well.

Wonder if the spare wheel carrier imprinted on the tailgate at touchdown .....

Flying is always lekker, it's the touch-down that's the problem... Thats when axles meet bump-stops, and things bend and your head hits the roof and you spill your cooldrink, and the GPS comes flying off the windscreen, and there's a breaking sound from the cooler box, and the passengers in the rear seat hit their heads against the rear window, and there is much crying and shrieking from female passengers and mamma hits you on the arm and doesnt talk to you for 2 days... :silent: :silent: :silent: :silent:

A flight in a Boeing from SA to GB will cost you thousands of Rands, a flight in a 4x4 for only 20 meters can cost you the same or even more than a ticket in a Boeing to GB.

Ja, photos taken in Namib, and yes, no damage to the Old Man Emu suspension. Also not sure about any other damage...

A flight in a Boeing from SA to GB will cost you thousands of Rands, a flight in a 4x4 for only 20 meters can cost you the same or even more than a ticket in a Boeing to GB.

not saying you have the cat by its tail

can't talk for others, however, we got our 4x4s so that we can get to certain places, where a normal vehicle will not be able to get to, and this while towing our offroad toys

understand that different strokes for different folks, however once we arrive at our destination we only use our 4x4 where we can't go with our other toys, couz we still need to get home
if we break one of our toys, tough, we either fix it or load it on the trailer and fix it when home

if we bend our 4x4, then our next trip is also at jeopardy

that is just how/why we do it

Fernado....This is a Hilux,not a Jeep....
proof that Jeeps can also fly, however still not planing to do so with my one!! :tease: :tease:
