Type of IC & Chip
What type of IC - Dastec or Cirrus (front fitted) ? And Unichip or Diesel Torque Chip for 2001 KZTE will be recommended?

Come on people - no reply? Maybe you might think that this is a stupid question, but for me to make a decission it's an important one.

I have Dastec in mine and to date no problems. Perhaps you shoul consider the service provider who is your backup and support.

Thanx Mark and Nico. What about the Chip?
Re: Type of IC & Chip
Think it's much of a muchness, some charge R2.5k and others R4k, but they more or less do the same or have the same figures.SPF wrote:Thanx Mark and Nico. What about the Chip?

Re: Type of IC & Chip
Buy a Prado Intercooler for Dastek Power, 012 621 9061 for R3800. It fits on top of the engine.
You will then need to install a D4D scoop foer airflow. Then you take it to Dastek to have a chip fitted.
This way will ensure the best possible gains and the most value for money...
My 2c worth.

Re: Type of IC & Chip
Thanx Thabo. I will contact them on Monday? Have you got the said Prado IC installed? I saw a SAC IC on a KZTE yesterday. I think it's a bottom fitted one. The problem I got with that spesific one is that it will scoop up water, mud grasseeds en die middelmannetjies op ons plaaspaaie is party plekke redelik hoog. Although I'm not doing a lot of 4x4, some paadjies on the farm is almost worst than a 4x4 route, especially those up the mountains were the baboons role some big stones into the 2 spoor paadjies. Looks like my options are either the front fitted Cirrus one or then the said Pardo IC.

Nee, ek het nog die onderste SAC een op maar wil graag verander na 'n boonste ene.
Jy is reg, die SAC ene sit te laag.

Re: Type of IC & Chip
SAC Vanderbijlpark prys R9 500.
Re: Type of IC & Chip
R10k seems like their standard sorta price, went through the same trauma 2 years ago, and decided to do it myself. Cost was half that

Re: Type of IC & Chip
IC & Unichip Q+ plus exhaust fitted by SAC yesterday @ 254142 km on my KZ. Happy with the service and will keep an eagle's eye on everything. I will try and post the Dyna report for some feedback from "you experts".
