Christmas Cheer Raffle - Please Read!!
Guys & Gals,
Christmas is rapidly approaching and I already feel one year older than I did at this time last year. This is traditionally a time when we all unwind and relax a little, reflect on the past and make preparations for an annual well-earned break away from home. But there are some people who may not be able to enjoy this luxury as conditions are difficult to say the least. With this in mid, I would urge you to read this story here Tymme & Zayleigh and help us, the Hilux Community, to look after one of our own.
It is time to dig into our pockets and assist Tymme & Zayleigh once again. This forum had various fund-raising initiatives earlier this year and we managed to raise some badly-needed cash towards assisting them in their time of need. Sadly, those funds are long since depleted.
I have therefore put together a not-to-be-missed package to raffle for Tymme & Zayleigh. For the measly amount of R101, you can buy any ONE of the following:
* Two hamburgers and possibly one Coke
* Two packets of cigarettes (20s)
* Less than 10 litres of petrol
* Six two-litre bottles of fizzy Cold Drink
* 10 loaves of bread
* One bottle of booze
OR YOU CAN RATHER HELP BRING SOME JOY & HAPPINESS TO A LITTLE GIRL AND HER MOTHER.
Hugs & Kisses remain free.
* One Raffle ticket for the following GRAND PRIZE!
The Grand Prize is a package containing all of the following:
A BENTON BX-2 BATTERY CHARGER
Fully regulated, Automatic 7-Stage Battery Charger. Connect it, and leave it. Further details and specifications may be found here.
TWO HYT TC320 UHF LICENCE-FREE PORTABLE RADIOS
This is not the type of thing that you can buy on a Supermarket shelf. HYT is one of the leading Two-Way Radio Manufacturer's in the World, catering for all types of two-way radios from basic models to World-Leading Digital Radios. These radios are good for coverage of up to 3km in an open area or about half of that when used in two vehicles.
OR:
The lucky winner may exchange the two HYT radios for ONE VHF Portable Radio, any of the following:
* HYT TC508
* Kirisun PT3600
* Kirisun PT4200
* HQT TH-2000
(Please note you must have an ORRA licence for this swap).
5W LED WATER-PROOF TORCH
These brilliant little pocket-sized torches need no introduction. We have sold hundreds of these to very satisfied users. There are various references to this on the forum, the latest being here.
Guys, look into your hearts and let us help those who are less fortunate than ourselves. Buy as many tickets as you wish. Tickets are conservatively priced at R101 per each, in order to prevent confusion between this raffle and other Club Events (eg. renewals) that are R100.

Proof of payment can be faxed to 086 552 3964 or emailed to ClubAdmin@hilux4x4.co.za.
But wait!! That is not all!!
Bike2Bike has come to the party and donated a magnicent prize of a Bike Tyre Pressure Montoring System which will be added to the Grand Prize. Many thanks to Janet and the Gang at Bike2Bike
ALL Ticket Numbers are eligible for this "Bonus" Prize as well!
CLOSING DATE: Friday, 9 December at Midnight

When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.
Life is like a jar of Jalapeño peppers ... what you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow.
Don't take life too seriously ..... no-one gets out alive.
It's not about waiting for storms to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
And be yourself ..... everyone else is taken!

Benton BX-2 chargers seem to be in short supply. As my stocks are running low, I re-ordered today and took all the available stock, one of which is earmarked for a prize in this raffle.

Re: Christmas Cheer Raffle - Please Read!!
Here's another thought:
The lucky winner could also exchange the BX-2 charger for TWO Benton BX-1 chargers, if he/she wishes.
The Benton chargers are full maintenance-free chargers, just connect the charger to your battery and leave it, it will sort out the battery's requirements fully automatically
We need to get the list full, these things are gathering dust and taking up space in my cupboard at work! And I want the prizes out before our shutdown 2nd week in December.

This is not entirely true, I have to disagree!
If you leave it when you drive off, you WILL have something hanging from truck, dragging on the road...

The furthest I have driven is about four houses along the road before I decided to stop the car and have a gander at what the funny scraping sound was. To this day, that very same charger - which was one day old at the time - is still doing sterling service, albeit with some little scratches on the case!
Will hold thumbs that you are the lucky winner!

Thank you Alex & Pieter!
Guys, Alex has issued a challenge: He is a closet Toyota lover but still has a certain loyalty to the American 4x4-wannabees, but we cannot let a J**P driver show us up!!
Go ahead, Plede! Show him that Hilux still rules. We may convince him to go the right path yet.
(And... I have a sneaky suspicion that we are not going to like what he will be doing to the LCs as part of his "work". More on that later!)
