Nee wat ons reel maar net voor die tyd soos laaskeer wat ons op is met n groep voertuie. Iets werklik besonders veral op n mooi aand.

Steve, I think we do it like we did in the past, convoy DEPARTS 07:00 at the Winelands 1 Stop on the N1 direction Paarl. It is about 1 hour's drive to get there, so we need to get going early, so that we're not stuck behind the mountain in the heat of the afternoon...

The club had 4 VHF handhelds 2-way radios that we will rent out to 4 members of the party at R50 for the day. Please let me know if you need one, pay the R50 into the Club acc and send me a copy of the POP and you're on the air...

Ek het netnou met die mense by tierkloof 4x4 gepraat,
EK Moet julle net in kennis stel dat die berg laasweek gebrand het, daar is min proteas en fynbos te sien, maar die roete is nogteeds veilig om te ry,
I must let you know that the mountain burnt last week, so there isn't alot of proteas and fynbos to see, but the route is still open and safe to drive

Die pryse is soos volg:

TRAIL
R100 per voertuig/vehicle
R20 per persoon/person
Kinders onder 12 gratis/kids under 12 free

CAMP
R50 Per aand per staanplek/ per night per stand
R20 per persoon/ per person
Maar, die van ons wat die roete gaan ry en oorbly hoef nie die R20 per persoon te betaal vir die kamp nie,
Those of us that drives the route do not have to pay the R20 per person for camping

Kamp fasiliteite is opgegradeer, daar is nou spoeltoilette, warmwater storte, en kragpunte by elke staanplek
Camp fisilities has been upgraded, there is flushing toilets, warmwater showers, and powerpoints at the stands

Ciske, ek verstaan nie, beteken dit dat dit nie nodig is om n club radio te huur vir die naweek nie en dat jy 10 radio's beskikbaar het vir die naweek?
Is die radios in die selfde Frequency band as die van club lede met radio's?

What is the rating of the trail and do I need some serious rubber and clearance or will a normal d4d do the job? Might have a friend or two that would like join as well in tritions.

Hi Johann, from what I have heard its a grade 3. You drive a Hilux so you will be ok !! if you check back on earlier threads in this topic I posted some links with some great pics of the trail etc.. As for the Tritons its Thys's gig so he will have the final say so and I am not sure what the total number of vehicles is allowed per day on the trail etc. I dont think the majority of the guys are staying over but myself and truckin are camping Saturday night as well so will defo be braaing !!!!

Hello Johann, you are welcome to join us on this one. The maximum number of vehicles on the trail in the past was 15. Tierkloof is no more than a Gr3 with some very nice obstacles. Your mates in the Tritons are also welcome, but we'll have to reserve the last 2 spots for Forum/Club members, should there be any late-comers.
