Well, well, well.....
what can I say.....
wonderful weekend!!!!!
The week was long....damm long, to say the least, and finally Friday the time came for us to head North. North towards Thabazimbie, where we would all meet at 15h30 and travel to Mateke 4x4 Nature reserve and enjoy the weekend
When we arrived at our meeting point 15h30 in Thabazimbi, Johan aka Torro Adventures and his camera crew, were eagerly awaiting all our arrival.
We quicly all filled up our vehicles and bought some extra sekel bos wood for the bush tv.
We arrived at Mateke, the 2000ha farm situated approx. 65km N/W of Thaba, where we were greeted by Theresa. She briefly gave us a rundown of he trails, camp-site and other activities.
Arriving at a well maintained bush camp , everyone quicky garbbed some refreshments, unpacked and settled in. The fire was quicky lit and everyone joined in around the camp lapa. We later had supper and 'kuiered' till late....
Saturday morning, some nice breakfast stuff was presented and we then headed for the bush, 4x4 game drive. A relatively mild to wild route where we stopped for lunch and snacks.
After lunch we headed back to the bush camp, where some enthusiastic walkers enjoyed the 'stap roete' and others an afternoon nap.
AJ was so excited to get away for the weekend and ended up leaving half of his camping kit at home
Ou Vale was misbehaving but we managed t keep the temp. down and completed the route without any problems. OOOODS successfully wrecked my mag wheel and cap....but, no hard feelings...... :sobbing:
Satuday evening we sat around the camp fire and some liquid was absorbed and some good 'around the camp fire' jokes were exchanged, having everyone in stitches
Then after a good old traditional Sunday 'healt breakfast', sousage, bacon, mushrooms and eggs, we starded packing up and headed for the hills.
A
