Yes I agree. If it was a Beekman you'd have no problems.. Mount it on the roof of the vehicle. That way the weight of the RTT is exactly between the axles too. MY2cW.... If you have a reliable tyre dealer, and there are a handful of them around, he will recommend the better tyres that are on the market.... I also agree with Marnus with regards to the BF Goodrich. I thought that they were one of the better ones on the market because of the thicker side wall...

I have a spare wheel carrier on my back bumper ( a solid rear bumper) with a swing arm. And quite correctly it means unlocking/ opening and swinging the wheel carrier out of the way, when accessing the tailgate or drawer system in my bakkie, but I also have a alu canopy with side flaps so I can acce...

Good luck getting anywhere in the delta at that time of the year. Winter is when it fills with water so I'd say your second vehicle should be a makoro. Was going to say something along those lines as well. Many places flooded out and inaccessible.... also a very large area to cover on the outlying ...

I think when you replace the engine with a non-hilux engine then it is no longer a hilux...... Those that attempt to sell Hilux's with anything but Hilux engines in them, mostly recommend putting the old Hilux engine back in the vehicle, because they do not sell readily with other non-hilux engines....

Have to agree with Andy, I reckon in a court of law the driver of the bakkie would be in biiiiiiig trouble.... Imagine the satisfaction the would be hijackers will have when the driver goes to prison for attempted murder.... Scary thought..
