Re: Hilux d4d Female 7 pin Tow Socket Waterproofing
Thanks Greg. I was leaning towards this myself. I will fill and let set but with bootlace lugs on the connections to ensure all is secure. once set I will bolt back on to the plate.
Its a bit of a pain this one, strange few have had this challenge.

Hilux d4d Female 7 pin Tow Socket Waterproofing
Gents i am experiencing a challenge on my D4D which I never encountered on the KZTE in that i constantly am getting small amounts of water into the back of the tow socket on the bakkie (during normal use). The design of the plug in that you need to locate the mounting screws onto the flange at the s...

Re: D4D Inaccurate Oil Level On Dipstick
Gents, I asked a toyota mech to show me how he measures the oil, wait for it.....he uses the back of the dipstick. ie the side with the 'holes' in it. not the side with the ' bumps' . (I am not sure about this...) I had some input from the dealership in Estcourt yesterday afternoon, they recommend c...

I was wondering if anyone knows if the rear seat back of the double cab can fold as there seems to be an area behind it that can be used for storage?

Re: D4D Inaccurate Oil Level On Dipstick
I am not buying your auto box running engine oil level check, no offence. What I want to know is, does the fault lie in a too smooth dipstick or is there some special method that needs to be used?? Anyone who has owned a KZ knows the dipstick has cross markings on it and there is never any doubt as ...

D4D Inaccurate Oil Level On Dipstick
Gents, I am struggling to find a method to measure my oil level on the dipstick of my D4D. When I remove the dipstick, all parameters fine (temp, level surface etc) I get 2 smears under each bubble, rear side level displays way higher than the top mark. I have tried removing the dipstick for a few m...

KZTE Cooling System Pressured expansion tank
Gents, I noticed this when browsing for a double cab for sale. Radiator sealed and pressure cap on the expansion bottle.
Can anyone explain this to me. I think it is standard to have a pressurised radiator and not an expansion tank?

03 KZTE Aircon Compressor Outer 'wheel clutch' coming loose
I am having a challenge with my aircon compressor outer wheel. It is secured with a 16 x 6mm bolt which secures it onto a splined shaft. This bolt seems to wear itself loose and the wheel then drops off into the engine compartment. I have found that if I tighten the wheel onto the compressor, the ai...

I am going to give it a go but need to find components. I am looking for a display unit that can take at least 2 temperatures, dash mount or similar. My plan is to monitor the ambient temperature (nice to have) in the bumper somewhere and also the EGT. Any ideas of where I can get an indicator (digi...
