The galvanizers decided, in their wisdom, and despite me drilling it full of holes, that they had to drill more holes in the outside face of the driver's side one but not the passenger side...

The gabriel ones are stupidly expensive, but Midas can regas them. The ones from 4x4direct or MacNaughtans are cheaper but can only be adjusted at the point of sale.

Oil seals leak because the seal interface isn't mating correctly with the surface. This is either due to misalignment or due to particles/grit preventing the surfaces from mating correctly. Yes, it's the inner most seal on the axle. If you strip the knuckle and axle, it's the first seal that goes back, It's the one that stops the diff oil from getting into the knuckle

It's closed cell foam matting. You can buy it in bulk from Sondor in the perfect width to fit across a Hilux. I've got the interior covered with 6mm. If I had to do it again I'd go for 8mm and do two layers over the transmission tunnel.

Trace the play. It's either in the linkage to the power steering box, the box itself, the ball on the Pitman arm from the box, the draglink, the steering arms or the tie rod ends.

They are the correct springs, we just made a mistake when fitting them: We fitted the springs to the chassis, torqued the bolts to Toyota spec (90Nm) and then fitted the axle to the springs. It's extended so far because of the steep curvature of the springs and their (related) shortness. This pushes the axle lower, increasing the distance between the diff and the transfer case.
