I had an odd vacuum problem with my brakes a while back, perhaps its a similar situation... My rear locker was also tee'd off the brake vacuum line. I know the feeling all too well. I struggled for ages with a starter problem. Had to be towed home more than once...

I would drop it out and take it to at your local Motolek. Let them test it, overhaul it the bits that need doing. It should come back good as new...

Either the battery is just weak or something is slowly draining the battery sufficiently when the vehicle stands long enough, so that there is not enough power to turn the motor over properly. Aha! well at least you found the problem. You can get some mooti that you can add to the petrol to clean them, but if they're that blocked then it might be worthwhile taking them for ultrasonic cleaning.

Diesel electric in Witbank can do it for you...

I got a trail-gear kit from Ronald (Dieseldog), and yip it is hi-steer.

Afraid I'm not too sure about the johnny's, but I'd bet Ronald can source them for you if you need....

Do you perhaps have a link to the filter specialist's suggestion?

I tried to get one of the enclosed BMC pod type filters but nobody had stock for me...

Anyway for the moment I'm in the market for a 3.3v6 Nissan Donaldson, that thing is MASSIVE!

Nope. I'm currently using a cone filter (it has been this way for a couple years), and I'll eventually fit a big donaldson instead. Probably from a Nissan or Ford, but I've got no intention to go the snorkel route.

The engine is so electric I think it'll die long before I drown it...

On the front you can use croozer vented disks and either spacer your current callipers or use IFS callipers. The flip side is that you'll have to space your rim away from the calliper or it'll catch...

Give Peet a call. AFAIK he configures the general purpose outputs for the main 2 relays. So sadly you'll have to find another spot for a temperature sensor....

If you remove the pump but have the aircon fitted, then the fanbelt I use is a 6pk1815 belt. If you keep the pump (remember to strip out the vanes and seal the unit) then you'll need a longer belt...

Does it only happen when you apply brakes? If so it sounds like your brake disks are warped. have them skimmed or replaced and the problem should go away.

Yip, a very very nice toy. Just goes to show that a 4 link can be done. A 3 link is also possible, and if you get the geometry right you can usually keep your stock fuel tank in place. Also remember that if you really want uber travel you're going to end up hacking your bak to pieces to fit monster ...

Yip its been done. The rear is easier to do than the front. Have a look at Scorpions super truck build thread. Blom built it with 4 link with coils. Very very nice....

You can lengthen the steering shaft by loosening the nut on the splined area near the brake booster. Then just lift the body, check taht the steering is turning freely and retighten. Be sure to soak the area in penetrating oil before hand. The bolts you should be able to get at any bolt supply place...

As far as I know everything will fit. The only catch is that the axle housing is wider, 3 inches overall. Also the carrier bearings might be a bit different, but I'm pretty sure it can be done...

I've had both and don't have a bad word to say about either.... The OME was slightly softer but I'm not sure how much that had to do with the springs. My pops also fitted IM, and in about 18 months his one rear shock sprung a very slight leak. Ironman replaced it no questions asked.... Sorry I cant ...

I agree, I'm told the trick is actually to let the filter get a leetle dirty. I looked for the K&N sock things and couldn't find any. If I could make it fit I would use a donaldson from a nissan 3.3 v6. Either that or a croozer filter. I have it on good authority that the standard hilux filter s...

At the moment I'm using a K&N. I'd like to change to a donaldson one day when I can find the right size and somewhere to fit it under the bonnet.

In the meantime the K&N will just have to stay well oiled...
