Whatever you do stick with a Toyota engine. 7M motors are still bullet proof as are the 1uz. Some guys have put the kzte in as well. Lots of info here on installation.

I don't know any African country that isn't corrupt. Safety is the biggest issue. Mozambique , Zambia , Malawi and Botswana are all safe countries to travel. SA is probably the worst in Southern Africa for crime and corruption.

My website is www.mangobeachtofo.co.za Petrol is Mt50 per litre and is fine we don't have problems with it. Diesel is Mt40 per litre. Be careful at the border they sometimes charge you for petrol in jerry cans. They are not allowed to so tell them to show you in the book where it says you must pay. ...

i have cooper STT on my landy. It's not a bad tyre and I would have preferred to get BFG KM2's but they didn't have. My mate has coopers on his prado and he has cracks all around the bead. They are 2.5 years old but only have 10% tread left. Still don't think they last as long as the BFG's but they ...

A standard 22R box. It's a R151 I think. You might have a stout gearbox because they were made for low gearing.

Re: Diff and gearbox ratios
You can't change the rear without changing the front ratios otherwise you will damage your diffs, gearbox and transfer case. Easy thing would be to change the gearbox. All Toyota gearboxes will fit your bell housing. Running 33" tyres will help too by about 10%. Something seems wrong with your ...

Very strange that it's revving so high. Where was your diff from? Cressida gearbox is the same as the 22R so shouldn't make a difference. What motor have you got in there?

Parts are still available for the 7m motors and if done properly are bullet proof engines that won't break your drive train. Won't break the bank either. Lexus IS an awesome engine but hard on the drive train. You will go through centre portions on your rear prop from the torque.

There is a metal flap on the hook securing it to the strap so if it broke off the bolts it would be the same as a shackle flying through the air.
