Just bought two of the AR5337 mounts from Autozone. R 107ea +VAT. Lets see how they last.

Will use the old ones as a template and maybe make some pin and bush type mounts.

Thanks Bretton. By chance I had a look at this very same one yesterday at Autozone - catalogue says for Cressida, 2.4 Petrol Hilux etc. , so I didn't get it :oops:

As Andy said, the only way is to buy a replacement seal. Stealers sell the uni-directional helix oil seal. I would say 12" max depending on springs. I would look at something like this if I could do it without having to cut the top wheel arch.

I did some measuring today on the front suspension. Standing flat at rest, the gap between the top of the bumpstop and the chassis stop pad is 75mm. Bearing in mind that this shock has 190mm free travel, that gives: 75mm (upward free travel) + 20m (estimated bumpstop compression) = 95mm upward shock...

Andy, you never know hey :) I'm sure that's how it started for some guys now making vehicles full time...

Now it's ready as far as I can see. Done about 100km and no leaks, noises, problems at all, even up to 130km/h. Now I'm itching to really go test it.

As Hoppy said, you'll just have to give the ball end a light sand. First I would suggest removing the wheels and spraying the whole assembly with solvent based engine cleaner and working it in with a stiff brush , then wash it off with a high pressure cleaner. Much easier to see what is going on the...

I haven't checked the alignment since I put the front axle back in after the overhaul. After 300km or so since October to now it looks to me like the outside shoulder of the front tyre is scuffing a bit. Best I get it checked then...
