Barto's HiLEX

Here's the first few official pics of my Hilux. Took the first 5 pics at the camp site at Vleesbaai this weekend. The pics were taken with my Sony cheapie camera, but my friend's wife had her new Canon SLR there and took about 800 pictures, so there should be a few good shots of the lux coming soon!...

The best part of the suspension is the huge difference in on road comfort. I think I should have taken a heavier front spring, because with the weight, the torque on the front axle and the offset caused by the axle move, the springs probably won't last very long, but only time will tell.

Also check your wheel bearings. A loose bearing will make the disc wobble(with the loose wheel) and slowly push the pad back and then it needs to take up that slack when you hit the brakes. It will also make your brake pedal feel spongy.

Re: Trying to make own compressor hose, need some help

The ARB compressor cuts out at 7bar, so I'd say a hose with a 10 bar rating. We use Festo pipe with about the same rating in factories which usually has a plant pressure of 5-7bar.
An 8mm hose(ID) should be sufficient for your needs.
