HI Matthew, I would not risk it at all. Rememebr that the flood waters are slowly on the rise in the delta now and by the time you are going it would have started to subsibe again fairly so it should be not wet, but there is always muddy crossings in Moremi, and some without a alternative road. I agree with what has been said by Andy & Eric. If you want to see what a Hilux in almost stock form can achieve you should go watch the 24/7 4WD channel on youtube with their budget build videos. This is were the two budget builds compete with some serious modified vehicles. One of the biggest ...

Use 95. It makes a difference after 3/4 tanks of fuel. Also mine started better hot or cold with 95 in the tank. I just felt mine was much smoother all round with 95 in the tank. I could do 650 on a 90l tank of fuel with 95. Anything less i battled to get more than 550 on a tank. Sent from my iPhone...

The Prado 120 is a seriously under rated vehicle. However they are heavy and the diesel motor does take time to get used to. They cruise well at the speed limit, but they take time to get there and when towing or heavy loaded you will feel it struggle a bit. The 4.0V6 is a gem of a engine. You can c...

Hi Ronaldo, Sorry to hear that your Hilux suffered possibly a failed headgasket. There was a design change in the headgaskets in the 1st quarter of 2006 on the V6 engine. I think it will be best to do the complete trail, no use in driving only a few. Also the risk on the trail with all the rain I do understand that the trail owner will close sections. So I think lets give it a week or so to see what happens.

Christo, the correct size standard for the 90 series Prado is 265/70R 16 with a 112 Load rating and a speed index of S or higher. Going up to 265/75/R16 is going to cost you a fair amount of extra fuel, the gearbox will hunt more on long climbs and it actaully slighlty overgear the vehicle which ten...

The 120 Series Prado KZTE is a pressurised cooling system with the cap on the expansion tank and not on the radiator. So there should be some pressure in the system when cold also, however it should not be so much that it pops the cap off when opening it cold. The system is basically "sealed&qu...

Cool! Great idea. I'm wondering if I should do that or one of those little fan chiller boxes Nic I would personally do that, instead of the thermo cooler box. They are very power hungry and not really that effective at keeping cool. It is also more versatile as you can put a lot of things in there.

HI Jan,
The drive shaft oil seal possibly gave up the ghost. To replace it you will have to remove the shaft first. Do yourself a favour and get the oil seal from the Agents. They are really not expensive and if you are going to do all that work, best is to ensure it will not leak again there.
