Re: Where has all my V8's power gone???
Hi Barto One thing you could check is the crank sensor, if it is dirty you would also experiance a loss of power. Depending in the timing gear installed for the Spitronic unit you may also be using one or both of the Camshaft sensor's, these could also be dirty. I found info on the Lextreme site und...

Re: Lexus V8
They used a Spitronic gearbox controller in my upgrade.
Using the originals would be the best option and more reliable than local kits

Re: GarMap Southern Africa Streetmaps Version 1.5
Because why, when I was in Mozambique last year, we arrived in Inhambane with no accommodation booked. In asking around all accommodation was fully booked ??? But only at the 3 or 4 main places. We chose Coconut Bay, not the best site. Checking on Google Earth on our return I was amazed to see how m...

Re: GarMap Southern Africa Streetmaps Version 1.5
I just got a 276c with T4A and SAS 1.5 for my birthday. The bad news is that my birthday is only on Monday and the wife won't give it to me until then.
Can't wait, got ants in my pants.

Re: SFA Fuel Breather
Don't block off the breather pipe, You mentioned fuel starvation, if no air is allowed into the fuel tank then the fuel pump will have a hard time supplying the engine with fuel, especially if your tanks are full, as it will be pumping against a vacuum. The valve in the breather line is a one-way va...

Re: SFA Fuel Breather
Ok You do have a problem, the breather pipe is blocked. This is the pipe that goes into the chassis from the top of the fuel tank.
There is a one way valve on the pipe which will allow air to suck into the tank but will not allow air or fuel out.
you just need to replace the valve.

Re: SFA Fuel Breather
Pressure builds up when the fuel expands, caused by temperature and evaporation. If my van is parked in the sun all day there is quite a lot of pressure when the fuel cap is opened. I think like most Hilux owners, the pressure has never caused me a problem, so I just accept it. I have a 120 lt fuel ...

Re: Kinetic recovery equipment
I have never used the snatch method, BUT, I like the idea that it should be a gradual process. First try a pull, then a slight snatch, then a harder snatch and a harder snatch and so on, until the stuck van is freed. This seems to be what most experts recommend. A beginner as myself, could cause maj...

Re: Cooling system
Logically, no amount of pressure should break the radiator Mountings?? If the rubber hoses are way too hard and rigid they may put a strain on the mountings, this is the only thing I can think of. I did see a lexus converion that was done with metal pipes between the radiator and the engine, this ca...

Re: SFA Fuel Breather
Guy's DON'T drill holes. Look around the other websites, all the guys who did this regretted it. :( You will always smell fuel around you bakkie. The breather works the opposite way around, it allows the tank to suck in air so it does not implode. There is no pressure escape on the breather. The fue...
