4x4 Direct Surf Project
Pieter, you may not complain, Laangebaan is small :laugh2: And Cape Town is far :D: Don't fret, I get 5-5,5 in town as well, whilst on the open road 8,6 unladen, and 6,6 fully laden with off-road trailer in tow, both @ 100-105. What ECU do you run? Also, for better cooling, consider 20mm spacers on...

Re: Hilux sfa lexus ombouing

As ek reg onthou is dit 3200rpm@120km/h. Ook met 33"s. Jy moet met GPS kyk hoor. Jou afstand gaan korter lyk op jou voertuig se odometer.... Omtrent 10%. Odo wys 1km/h stadiger as GPS op 120kph, so dis seker naby genoeg :D: Laasnaweek Bellville-Bredasdorp-Bellville gedoen teen 100-110kph en 7,...

Re: Nog n Lexus in n SFA

Ou Swartvark gee my 7.2km/liter tussen Gordonsbaai en Mosselbaai teen so 110-130km/h. Lekker man!

Bonnet scoops are useless, but a vent performs as per its name, it should vent heat at little or no speed. I added 2" spacers on the hinges to allow the heat to dissapate once parked, and made a huge difference. With all the bash plates etc the engine couldn't breathe properly, now that has bee...

Daar is 'n paar goed. Fans is belangrik, maa...

Re: Lexus getting hot
Bad news is that these motors don't like getting hot and regularly blow a gasket if they run hot. Good news is it's more economical to put another motor in than to repair an existing one. Overheating can be a couple of things: Check the intake manifold is firmly on and sealed- they run very hot if ...

Thanks ! In general at 120 km/h I am at about 2500 RPM in 5th and get @ 6km/l - 6.5km/l. When I tow my loaded Metalian Midi trailer in 4th at 110km/h -115km/h at about 2700 rpm I get 5km/l.My gearing is very long though. Wow, those are loooong gears  And I thought mine was bad... Being a noob with zero posts on the forum, I am bit reluctant posting, especially as a non-Hilux pilot with very limited mechanical capability  ..............nice torque curve from low rpms. . Re: lexus v8
Sorry to revive an old thread, but this is just tooo interesting  On my 1UZ Pajero/Plexus/Toyero/Pajexus/Lejero (ex 2.8 TDi), I got 6km/l - 31" running 2600rpm @ 110km/h(GPS). I was also hoping for 7-8 km/l, especially running with nice low rpms. I was told to run at higher rpms. At 3500...
